Four Aims for Materials
  1. To refine small hand movement
  2. To work on eye-hand coordination
  3. To offer variations in the movement of grasping
  4. To coordinate two hands working together
In the Montessori classroom, a child is allowed freedom of choice as well as freedom of movement. The child is guided in learning, not dictated to. The environment is designed to foster independence, helping the child gain respect for self, for others and for the environment.
